Maria Evers

State Farm Insurance Agent Maria Evers brings over three decades of expertise and professionalism to her community, serving the residents of Northeastern Pennsylvania with an enduring commitment to the people of the region she calls home.

Maria emigrated from Italy with her father on July 4, 1955. She received her U.S. citizenship in 1963 while in the ninth grade. Upon returning to school after her naturalization ceremony, Maria’s social studies teacher celebrated her achievement with the entire class. Now, over 60 years later, Maria provides insurance services to the son of that very same teacher.

Educated at St. John’s High School in Pittston, Maria received a Bachelor's Degree in History from Misericordia University and earned her Master's Degree in Public Administration from Marywood University.

Maria’s early career began in social work, where she witnessed firsthand the critical need for supporting families. The experience ignited her commitment to advocacy, leading her to serve throughout the years as President of the Board of Directors for organizations such as The ARC of Northeastern Pennsylvania, the Goodwill of NEPA, and as a founding member of the Italian American Women’s Association.

After a brief hiatus to raise her son Nicolas, Maria embraced the opportunity to re-enter the workforce as a State Farm Agent, drawn to the flexibility that allowed her to balance her professional pursuits serving families along with cheering on her son from the soccer sidelines.

Maria credits her 33 years of success at State Farm to her exceptional team, all of whom are committed to the community, diversity and inclusivity.
